Overview
PROMT Standard 9.0 is an easy-to-use application for quick translation of emails and other texts. You can easily control the quality of translation and use additional settings and dictionaries.
We recommend PROMT Standard 9.0 for:

Translating texts
PROMT Translator linguistic editor is the heart of the application, which allows it to translate texts of any complexity. You can even get a complete translation without customizing the system: simply add some text to the translation pane and click Translate. The source text is displayed in the top area of the editor and the translation is displayed at the bottom. The goal of such basic translation is to help you get the gist of the source text and decide whether you need to work further with it. Because of the new algorithms and vastly expanded dictionaries (we have added over 300,000 new entries), PROMT v9.0 offers high-quality translation even in this basic mode. For an even higher-quality translation of texts with specialized terminology and highly specific lexicon, you have complete control over all translation settings: choose and edit profiles, enable dictionaries—built-in or additional dictionaries from PROMT collections. Setting up PROMT Standard 9.0 is very easy and does not take much time.
Translating instant messages in ICQ, Skype, QIP, and MSN Messenger
Making friends and chatting with people throughout the world is impossible when you have to look up every word. Chat with your friends using their language by enabling PROMT Personal 9.0 in popular instant messengers. In a matter of seconds, it will translate your messages into their language and back. You can set it up to display the translation in several ways: the translation can appear in a separate window, or right in the window with your ongoing chat. This feature is now available in the four most popular instant messengers. In addition to ICQ, we’ve included support for Skype, QIP, and MSN Messenger.
Translating documents in the Microsoft Office Suite 2000–2007 and Adobe applications
PROMT Standard 9.0 supports translation in the popular office suites, such as Microsoft Office 2000–2007 (Word, Outlook) and Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat Pro. After installing PROMT Standard 9.0, the PROMT Translator tool will be added to the toolbar in these applications.
Translating text in the clipboard
With this feature, you can translate documents open in other applications, text of the online help system, emails, names of applications, documents, folders, and other objects in Windows, etc. In other words, you can translate any text in the clipboard in a convenient pop-up window.
Translating Web pages in Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox
Quick translation of analytical articles by international experts, news from all over the world, and quick familiarization with information from foreign-language sources—these are just a few tasks that PROMT Professional 9.0 can handle, with translation options that can be built into the most popular browsers: Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox. You only need to select the translation direction and profile, as well as what you want to translate—the selected portion of a Web page or a Web page in its entirety. The original text formating will be preserved in the translation along with all the URLs on the page.
Saving translation results
The translation made by PROMT Translator can be edited and saved to an RTF or TXT file.
New level of control over the quality of translation
PROMT Standard 9.0 offers high-quality translation even when using the basic setting. If you wish to work with specialized texts, the new structure of the dictionary databases of the application greatly simplifies the process of fine-tuning the translation system to improve the quality of translation. It is easy to set up the system: just choose the profile you wish to work with, and then, if necessary, enable additional dictionaries. You can choose between your own dictionaries and dictionaries from the installed PROMT Collections. In addition, you can fine-tune the system to:
- Edit the list of reserved words and preprocessors that alter the algorithms of preliminary processing of the text before the translation occurs;
- Create translation rules;
- Define how unknown words will be transliterated;
- Define how translation variants will be displayed;
Creating your own dictionaries
With PROMT Standard 9.0 you can create your own dictionary containing the lexicon of the topics you work with most often. Then you can enable this dictionary in PROMT Translator. You can freely update and edit user dictionaries in PROMT Standard 9.0.

A personal user area with access to your personalized services and resources of PROMT Personal v9.0 becomes available after you register your PROMT product. Use My PROMT to:
